Anita is offering a selection of goodies from her new shop as blog candy, and it’s well worth a visit. There’s a free gift with every order, postage is great, and calculated by weight, so you don’t end up with the ridiculously over-charged for a single packet of stickers.
And, wonder of wonders, delivery is speedy, YAY!! Am I the only person getting fed up with craft sites taking a week to process orders? Thank goodness for smaller sites that still have the personal touch and realise that once we’ve ordered something, we want it quickly

Jonathan’s alien card challenge

Jonathan (Ultramum’s son) decided that none of us made enough alien cards, so he set a challenge on the Crafts Beautiful forum to encourage us. Here’s mine, which makes me laugh, which is all I need to make a project seem worthwhile. The ribbon is from Anita’s Crafting Cavern, the peel-offs were from ebay, the stars are handcut and I made the image in PaintShop using elements from Outlaw by Design

Magnolia Vs Stampavie – Challenge 1

The Magnolia and Sarah Kay blogs have merged, to hopefully give Donna a little bit of time to herself, and of course to make things more convenient for those of us in blogland.
So, here’s the new blog, Magnolia Vs Stampavie, and the first challenge is a sketch. I love sketches at the moment, and this one’s beautiful, here’s my take on it, sorry for the picture, I just can’t seem to get one that shows the colours properly:

Friday Sketchers Challenge 26

There’s a great sketch this week over at the Friday Sketcher’s Challenge blog, and this is my take on it. I really tried to make the shape on the right an oval, but I don’t have anything that will cut or draw them professionally, and when I tried to do them by hand it all just looked dreadful. So, since I do have a compass, I hope it was ok to substitute circles.
The card is much more pink and sparkly in real life, but I just can’t get a photo that shows all the bits properly, because if the silver bits sparkle, the pink bits look black, and vice versa.

Basic Grey Challenge 8 – Shapes

This is my first entry to the Basic Grey Challenge Blog, and it’s also my first Christmas card of the year. The challenge is to use shapes in your work, so I used a square, a circle, a triangle and two rectangles, one upright and one side-ways.
The large green background square and the purple circle are both from the Euphoria paper range, the pink triangle and the text rectangle are from DCWV Rose-Tinted Christmas range, and the purple stem is a scrap of paper I found in my box of cut-off bits, and I think it’s from K&Co Verbena and Peabody range.
I think I’m going to get something silver to put on it somewhere, but it will have to wait til payday and I’m not really sure what I want, so any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Stamp Something Sketch Challenge, Fri 17th Oct

There is a great sketch at the Stamp Something blog this week, provided by the lovely Katharina from Whiff of Joy stamps
Here is a card I made last night using a stamp from Viva Las Vegas stamps and papers from K&Co. I used a square card, which threw the elements out a little, and I just couldn’t get the text to look right at the angle in the sketch, so I hope it’s ok that I tilted it the other way
